New Providence, NJ – Cameron and Jared Wohl of Little Falls and Livingston, celebrated the 10th anniversary of Cameron’s lifesaving liver transplant by donating $10,000 to the Sharing Network Foundation, a subsidiary of NJ Sharing Network (NJSN). This contribution will support the Joseph S. Roth Simulation Center, a cutting-edge training facility at NJSN’s headquarters. The center aims to enhance the education and training of healthcare professionals, ensuring they are well-equipped to manage organ and tissue donors and support families, ultimately saving more lives.
“Contributing to the Simulation Training Center and the hands-on training it will provide in a real-world setting is our way of giving back to NJ Sharing Network and the community that has supported us throughout our transplant journey,” said Jared Wohl. “As a former educator and a living transplant donor, it means so much to play a part in maximizing organ donation outcomes at NJSN and helping to save and enhance more lives through education.”
The Wohl brothers have been advocates for organ and tissue donation awareness since Jared donated 65% of his liver to Cameron, who was battling primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), a rare autoimmune disease. Their nonprofit organization, The Wave Set, founded in 2013 and now a partner fund of NJSN, has been instrumental in promoting organ and tissue donor registration and supporting donor families. In 2016, they launched a crowdfunded documentary, “65 Percent,” depicting their transplant journey, furthering their mission to educate the public about the importance of organ donation. The documentary can be viewed at www.sharingnetworkfoundation.org/the-wave-set.
Reflecting on their decade-long journey, Jared and Cameron expressed immense gratitude for their health and the support they received. Cameron’s post-transplant journey led him to a career in healthcare, working as a Field Clinical Specialist to help physicians optimize patient outcomes, and he recently welcomed a son. Jared, a Senior Account Director in SAAS sales, supports higher education institutions while being a devoted father and singer-songwriter. Their donation to the Joseph S. Roth Simulation Center underscores their commitment to advancing organ donation education and ensuring the best training for clinical teams, ultimately saving more lives.
