Her decision to donate two kidneys and a liver led directly to three transplant procedures; her family still receives thank-you notes from recipients and says they are comforted by the lives improved by her gifts. The gathering highlighted personal stories like Jarnikin’s to show the human impact behind surgical transplants.

Advocates used the event to remind residents that they can register as organ donors when renewing their driver’s licenses and urged people to discuss their wishes with family members.
