Henderson Police Officer Ramon Martin del Campo donated his kidney to a man in Minnesota, which enabled his mother to move up on a waiting list and receive a new kidney in January. Although Martin del Campo and his mother weren’t a match, his donation allowed his mother to receive priority status on the Nevada waiting list. The Nevada Donor Network and the Las Vegas Lights will honor Martin del Campo for his donation during their “Donate Life Night” event, which aims to raise awareness for the need for organ donors. Martin del Campo hopes to inspire others to consider becoming organ or tissue donors and highlights the dire need for more registered donors, particularly from multicultural backgrounds.
