Grieving Parents Meet Recipients of Their Daughter’s Organs, Advocate for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention

After the tragic loss of their daughter, Jaden, in September 2023, a Central Minnesota couple is on an emotional journey to meet the recipients of her organs. Jaden, a 20-year-old adventurous and kind young woman, died by suicide, but her organs were donated, saving multiple lives. Her parents, Michelle and Jason, have since traveled across the country to meet the people whose lives were saved by Jaden’s liver, pancreas, kidneys, and lungs.

The couple has already met several recipients, including a one-year-old boy who received Jaden’s liver, a man with end-stage renal disease who received her pancreas and kidney, and a mother who is breathing with Jaden’s lungs. They are now only awaiting to meet the recipient of Jaden’s heart.

In addition to this personal journey, Michelle and Jason have become advocates for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. They organize walks, speak at the state capitol, and create suicide prevention cards to raise awareness. Their efforts are dedicated to sharing Jaden’s story and helping others, hoping that it can save lives, just like her organs did.
