Baby Harlen’S Bright Future After Lifesaving Liver Transplant

Harlen, an 18-month-old toddler, is thriving and healthy after receiving a life-saving liver transplant. Harlen had been on the waitlist for a new organ for five months due to his deteriorating condition from biliary atresia. His parents, Kristy and Matt Busuttil, feared for his life and were preparing for Kristy to donate part of her liver. Fortunately, a generous donor was found, and Harlen underwent the transplant successfully.

Since the surgery, Harlen’s symptoms, including jaundice and discomfort, have disappeared, and he is now able to eat and sleep well. The Busuttil family, who spent months at Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital, is relieved and grateful to the medical team involved in Harlen’s care. They also highlight the importance of organ donation and hope that their story will encourage more people to register as donors. The family looks forward to a bright future for Harlen and expresses their deep gratitude to the donor family for their life-saving gift.
