Following a sudden cardiac arrest that left him unresponsive, Tyrone’s family was faced with the difficult decision to remove him from life support. The family learned shortly after that he was an organ donor, an act that would ultimately provide hope to others.

Tyrone’s daughter, Tyreisha Berry, who also works in healthcare, expressed her heartache but found solace in her father’s choice to help others even in death. She highlighted that his actions enabled the successful liver transplant for a 51-year-old woman, thus saving a life. Tyreisha’s emotions resonated deeply as she recounted fond memories of her father, an extraordinary diesel mechanic, and veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

The hospital’s staff participated in a solemn honor walk as they transported Tyrone to the operating room, an experience that moved many to tears.
