April marks National Donate Life Month, and to raise awareness about organ donations, Impact Life and the Iowa Donor Network hosted an event at the blood center in Davenport. This collaborative effort aimed to highlight the critical need for organ donations, as approximately 106,000 people are currently waiting for transplants in the United States.
The event underscored the connection between organ donations and blood donations, emphasizing that both are essential for saving lives. Organ and tissue donations play a vital role in healing individuals and supporting their families during challenging times.
To further promote awareness, a walk will be held on Saturday, April 20th, at Bettendorf Veteran Park. This event is intended to engage the community and encourage more people to consider registering as organ donors, reinforcing the ongoing need for donations throughout the year.
