Honor Walk Held For 8-Year-Old Organ Donor

In an emotional tribute at WakeMed Courtyard, around 200 people gathered to honor 8-year-old Miles Campbell as he was taken to the operating room for organ donation. The same heartfelt music played inside the hospital as close family and staff said their final goodbyes to Miles, whose organs will save other lives. This special honor walk was held outside due to the large number of people wanting to celebrate Miles.

The tragedy occurred on Memorial Day when Jordan Porter, allegedly impaired, ran a red light and collided with the Campbell family’s vehicle. Miles’s parents, Tyler and Susan, died at the scene, and Miles passed away on Tuesday. Friends and family, wearing red to honor the NC State graduates Tyler and Susan, gathered to remember Miles’s love and the joy he brought in his short life. Authorities have charged Porter with DWI and expect additional charges to follow.
