DLH INSPIRE AWARDS IN THE NEWS
Every year Donate Life Hollywood (DLH) honors writers and producers who tell authentic and positive donation stories with a DLH Inspire Award.
On August 26th the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood hosted this year’s fabulous DLH Inspire Awards presented by the OneLegacy Foundation with support from Gift of Life Michigan and Donor Alliance:
Grey’s Anatomy, Chicago Med, The Resident, 9-1-1, Last Chance Transplant, Joe 238 documentary, and Letters of Hope web series received DLH Inspire Awards.
CELEBRITIES SUPPORT DONATION
Celebrity guests included Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (Runaway Train, Dark Knight), Television Star Stepfanie Kramer (Hunter, NCIS), and classic TV icon Donny Most (Happy Days, Glee).
ROBIN ROBERTS ACCEPTS DLH AWARD
GMA co-anchor Robin Roberts won the inaugural Joe Lafferty Award, given to entertainment industry leaders working behind the scenes to bring attention to organ donation. Rock’nRobin Productions helped produce Last Chance Transplant. The docu-series also featured Roberts speaking with transplant candidates about their wait for a second chance at life.
High school students in the greater Los Angeles area can win up to $1000 for a one-minute PSA debunking one of the main myths and misconceptions about organ donation. Let the high school students in your life know about this PSA contest!
“THE MARKED HEART” ON NETFLIX
DLH heard from the physician advisor on “The Marked Heart!” He said they are going to incorporate pro-donation messaging into the season two storyline. Thank you to everyone who signed our DLH petition, keep them coming!
