Urgent: Overland Park Boy Desperately Seeks Kidney Donor for Life-Saving Transplant

An Overland Park boy named Owen is in need of a life-saving kidney transplant. At just 6 years old, Owen has spent most of his life in and out of the hospital due to a kidney disease. Three years ago, the community rallied together to support Owen and his family in a fundraiser. Now, Owen is asking for help once again. Despite facing liver cancer, hepatoblastoma, and undergoing chemotherapy, Owen has remained resilient. He attends school daily and enjoys every moment of life. However, the family is now focused on finding a kidney donor for Owen so that he can live a different and healthier life. They are seeking someone between the ages of 18 to 50 with type O blood and in good health.

Anyone interested in being a possible kidney donor for Owen can contact KU Health Systems at (913) 588-1227. The support of the community and a potential kidney transplant offer hope for Owen’s future.
