Honoring Sipsey Valley Siblings: Parade Salutes Life-Saving Bone Marrow Transplant

A fifth-grade student named Paisley Milligan is donating bone marrow to her seventh-grade brother Shelton, who is battling aplastic anemia. To honor them, Sispey Valley Middle School organized a parade in the school parking lot on the first day of school while both siblings were unable to attend. Despite missing school, Shelton was excited to see his friends cheering him on. After his treatments are complete, he hopes to return to playing baseball. Paisley was found to be a 100% match for Shelton and will be the donor for the bone marrow transplant. The family is receiving support from the community through fundraisers and donations to help cover the expenses incurred during Shelton’s hospitalization and recovery.
