$11K raised for 4-year-old Lindsay’s stem cell transplant

A mother in Lindsay, California is seeking help for her four-year-old son, Jesiah Acevedo, who has been struggling with a rare and severe form of anemia since birth. Doctors at Valley Children’s Hospital suspect that a bone marrow transplant is necessary to save his life. Jesiah has been receiving high doses of steroids throughout his life, and the prospect of continuous treatment is difficult on his health. In March, they are scheduled to go to Stanford’s hospital for the transplant, after being on the waitlist multiple times. While insurance does not cover all of the expenses, the mother has taken on three jobs to make ends meet. Her friends have also started a GoFundMe to assist with living expenses while they are in Palo Alto. The family is grateful for the support and asks for prayers.
