Salcha Woman Receives Liver Transplant, Friends Offer Heartwarming Embrace.

Longtime Salcha resident Debby Duncan is receiving support from friends after undergoing a liver transplant in Seattle one month ago. To help with her recovery costs, an Italian Night fundraiser dinner and dessert auction will be held at the Salcha Senior Center on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. A GoFundMe account has also been set up to assist with expenses. Debby’s oldest daughter, Carey, explained that her mother was diagnosed with hepatitis C 18 years ago, leading to cirrhosis of the liver. After the successful transplant, Debby has been discharged from the hospital but will remain in Seattle for at least two more months. The funds raised will be used to cover rent, food, and transportation.

The Italian Night fundraiser will feature various Italian dishes, including spaghetti and stuffed shells, as well as a silent dessert auction. Salcha residents are known for their culinary skills and community generosity. Anyone who wishes to donate a baked item for the auction can bring it to the Salcha Senior Center on Friday evening or Saturday morning. In addition to the fundraiser, a GoFundMe account has been set up to gather further support, raising $4,185 so far. Friends, including organizer Anne Johnson, have come together to help Debby Duncan, who has been known for her generosity and volunteer work in the community.
