Webster Lacrosse Community’S Eco-Friendly Fundraiser For Student’S Kidney Transplant

Both boys varsity lacrosse teams at Webster high schools in Webster, NY, are coming together to raise awareness and support for Austin Tordai, a 16-year-old student who is in need of a kidney transplant. Tordai was diagnosed with Stage 5 kidney failure last September, forcing him to undergo dialysis three days a week. To show their solidarity, the lacrosse teams from Webster Thomas and Webster Schroeder faced off on the field while also selling green t-shirts to gather funds for Tordai’s cause.

Stephanie Schaffer, the organizer of the fundraising effort, emphasized that this initiative aims to highlight the unity of the Webster community, with supporters from both high schools participating. The money raised will go towards supporting Tordai’s medical expenses as he waits for a kidney donor. Schaffer expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received, with many asking how they can assist the Tordai family. Those interested in contributing can visit the Tordai family’s GoFundMe page to learn how to help.

Austin Tordai’s story showcases the power of community and teamwork, as the Webster high school lacrosse teams unite to raise awareness and funds for his kidney transplant. Through their efforts, they hope to alleviate some of the financial burden on the Tordai family and demonstrate their unwavering support.
