Kenecia was eventually admitted to the hospital with an enlarged liver and spleen, where tests confirmed her diagnosis of leukemia. Despite the chemotherapy sessions, the cancer cells have not decreased as expected, and if they remain high, Kenecia will require a bone marrow transplant. Her mother is seeking assistance from the public to fund the procedure and has set up a GoFundMe account and plans to hold a cake sale to raise funds.
Kenecia was previously a playful and academically excelling child, but her health issues have disrupted her education.
