Over £900 Collected For Father In Wrexham Requiring Liver Transplant.

Ben Belton, a 37-year-old man from Borras, has been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis since the age of four. The progressive disease has resulted in severe liver damage and failure for Ben. After being rushed to the Countess of Chester Hospital and spending two weeks in a medically induced coma, doctors have informed him that he needs a life-saving liver transplant. Ben and his family are hopeful that the transplant will be soon, as he has been referred as an urgent patient to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, known as the best in the country for major organ transplants.

In the meantime, Ben will be sent home, but due to his limited mobility, he will require a mobility scooter to get around. A GoFundMe page has been created by a family friend and former neighbor, Christine Ellis, to raise funds for Ben to purchase a scooter. The campaign has already raised nearly £900 of its £1,000 goal. Ben expressed his gratitude for the support, stating that he is “humbled and touched” by everyone’s generosity. He remains hopeful and confident that he will get through the transplant operation as he has already overcome numerous challenges in the past.
