FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SODA: Student Organ Donation Advocates, an organ donation nonprofit focused on student-led advocacy, is excited to be partnering with Hearts for Russ and Second Chance Fundraising to offer three scholarship opportunities for current and incoming college and graduate students who are passionate about promoting organ, eye, and tissue donation.
These scholarships are open to students who will be attending college or university in the United States this upcoming school year. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to advocating for organ donation.
“Organ donation is a critical issue that affects millions of people,” said Nicole Nidea, SODA’s Program Director. “By offering these scholarships, we hope to encourage more students to get involved in advocating for organ donation and raising awareness about its importance.”
Each scholarship recipient will be awarded $1,000 for the 2023-2024 academic year. To apply, students must submit a written response explaining their passion for organ donation and plans to advocate on campus.
“We believe that education is a powerful tool for creating change,” said Sophia Renner, SODA’s Student Engagement Coordinator. “By supporting students who are committed to organ donation advocacy, we are inspiring the next generation of leaders in this field.”
Scholarship applications are now open, and the deadline to apply is June 15th, 2023. Winners will be notified by July 11th, 2023.
