Beloved Capital Region chef and philanthropist, Yono Purnomo, has received a kidney transplant from a living donor, according to an update from his family. Purnomo had been in search of a kidney for several months after being diagnosed with end-stage renal failure in 2023. His surgery took place at New York City’s Presbyterian Hospital on Tuesday and both Purnomo and the donor are said to be recovering well. Purnomo’s family expressed their gratitude for the support and prayers they have received throughout this process.
