Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij has announced that liver and kidney transplants will soon be available at PGIMS, Rohtak. The minister stated that efforts are being made to improve healthcare services in the state and ensure that residents do not have to go outside of Haryana for medical treatment. Additionally, plans are being made to provide ECG and X-ray facilities to every primary health center in the state. The health budget in Haryana has increased significantly, allowing for the improvement of medical infrastructure and the provision of better medicines and equipment in government hospitals.
Haryana is also the first state in the country to conduct mapping to provide health services, collecting data on hospitals and doctors according to WHO parameters. The state is working towards establishing a medical college in every district of Haryana and is focusing on developing the private sector as well. Various healthcare initiatives have been implemented, such as the establishment of the world’s first AYUSH University in Kurukshetra, the construction of a 300-bedded Nature Cure and Ayurvedic hospital in Panchkula, and the formation of the Yog Aayog in Haryana.
