A fundraiser was held in Webster, New York on Saturday to support Amanda Caruso, a woman in need of a double lung transplant. The community gathered at the Webster Fairport Elks Lodge to raise funds for Caruso’s life-saving procedure. The event featured activities such as raffles, music, and the signature Rochester dish known as a “garbage plate.” Caruso, who underwent her first double lung transplant at the age of 17 months, is now preparing for her second transplant. News 8 Reporter Gio Battaglia had previously interviewed Caruso about her journey and the importance of organ transplantation in October.
