Cole Began, a resident of Scottsboro, recently received both a new heart and kidney after being diagnosed with kidney disease and congestive heart failure. Just over a month ago, tests revealed the urgent need for transplants, and since then, his recovery journey has been supported by an outpouring of community love and assistance. Following his successful surgeries, Began has been released from Vanderbilt Medical Center but will remain near Nashville for ongoing medical follow-ups.

Began, who works as the maintenance director at the Jackson County Courthouse, is a familiar face in the community, and his colleagues have come together to support him during this challenging time. Friends, family, and coworkers organized a gathering to celebrate his recovery, pray for his continued health, and provide financial assistance for his family. Many contributed homemade goods for a fundraising event that raised thousands of dollars, demonstrating the community’s commitment to supporting one of their own.

As Began focuses on his recovery, he expresses deep gratitude for the kindness and generosity shown by his neighbors. Another fundraising event is already being planned, ensuring that he and his family receive the ongoing support they need during this critical period. The strong community spirit in Scottsboro is evident as residents unite to help Began navigate the challenges ahead.
