Couple’s Inspiring Kidney Transplant Tale Shared from New Bern

A couple in New Bern, North Carolina, is sharing their inspiring story of love and sacrifice. Sharon and Steve McNally have been married for over 40 years, during which Steve has faced numerous health issues, including several surgeries and hospital visits. Most recently, he needed a kidney transplant. However, the wait time for a donor kidney was estimated to be 8-10 years, and doctors were uncertain if Steve would survive that long. In a display of unwavering love and selflessness, Sharon volunteered to be tested as a potential donor. Miraculously, they were a match, and Sharon willingly donated her kidney to save her husband’s life. The surgery took place on November 7, and just a month later, both Sharon and Steve are recovering well and back to their usual routines. Their story serves as an inspiration to others and highlights the incredible lengths people will go to for those they love.
